Prof. Wu Ke Li and his postgraduate students, Hu Hai and Meng Huan, received 2012 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference Best Paper Award on 6 Dec 2012 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The paper titled "Waveguide dual-mode filter in extended box topology for general asymmetric transfer characteristics".

APMC is a major conference of the field in the world. This prestigious award is at much higher grade than the Best Student Paper Award in the Conference, and reflects a high quality research conducted by our students. Mr. Hu Hai is our Ph.D student. He has 3 full papers accepted by IEEE Trans. on MTT so far.

CHEONG Hio Teng has been awarded the CUHK Global Internship Programme 2012 – Subsidy Scheme (December 2012)

Our BME Undergraduate Year 2 student, Miss Cheong Hio Teng, has been awarded the CUHK Global Internship Programme 2012 – Subsidy Scheme and undertook a summer research attachment at Columbia University during summer time of 2012.

Ma Lin, PhD student from the Electronic Engineering Department (Supervisor: Prof. Ngan King Ngan) has recently been awarded the prestigious 2011 Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) Fellowship.

The Fellowship Program was established in 1999. It aims to encourage and recognize outstanding PhD students in the Asia-Pacific region to realize their potential in research areas of computer science, electrical engineering, information science, and applied mathematics. Each year only 2 fellowships are awarded to postgraduate students in Hong Kong.

Christy K. Y. Fung was awarded the Best Student Paper of Section at the 16th Opto-Electronics and Communications Conference (OECC 2011) held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, July 4-8, 2011. The paper was entitled "Distributed Bragg Reflector Based on Shallow-Etched Side Cladding Grating" by Christy K.Y. Fung, Xia Chen and Professor Hon Ki Tsang.

Marco Ho, Ph.D. student from the Department of Electronic Engineering (Supervisor: Prof. Alex Leung) has been awarded Best Paper Award at IEEE Student Symposium on Electron Devices & Solid-State Circuits held on December 15, 2011 in Hong Kong. The paper is entitled "A High-Loop-Gain-Bandwidth Nanoscale Low-Dropout Regulator with All Minimum-Channel-Length Transistors" by Marco Ho and Alex Leung.
