Pan Jiaxian, Ph.D. student from the Department of Electronic Engineering (Supervisor: Ma Wing Kin) has been awarded the Best Student Paper Award at 2011 International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing. The awarded paper is entitled "A Lagrangian dual relaxation approach to ML MIMO detection: Reinterpreting regularized lattice decoding" by Pan Jiaxian and Ma Wing Kin.

Chik Man Chum, Mphil student from the Department of Electronic Engineering (Supervisor: Prof. Cheng Kwok Keung, Michael) has been awarded the Best Student Paper Award (Champion of AP Session) in the 13th IEEE (Macau) AP/MTT Postgraduate Conference 2012. The awarded paper is entitled “A low-profile, compact, mode-decomposition based antenna array for use in beam-forming application”.
