Mr Chang Ka Fai and Mr Lam Fuk Ming, PG students of EE microwave lab, have won the championships of the Best Student Paper Award in the 9-th IEEE AP/MTT HK PG contest, October 4 2008, Macau, in the areas of MTT (Microwave Theory and Techniques) and AP (Antenna & Propagation) respectively. There were more than 20 papers submitted in the competition, mainly from Universities of HK and Macau, for oral presentation.
Chen Hua, a Year-4 undergraduate supervised by Prof. Alex Leung, has been awarded "Second Prize" in the IEEE Hong Kong Section 2008 (UG) Student Paper Contest. His paper "Settling Time Optimization for Three-Stage Nested Gm-C Amplifiers" is selected to join the IEEE Region 10 Student Paper Contest.

Alan Cheng Lap Kei received the Best Student Paper Award from the Asia Optical Fiber Communication and Optoelectronic Exhibition and Conference (AOE) held at Shanghai, Oct 30-Nov 2, 2008. The AOE is the largest conferences in fiber communications and optoelectronics in Asia. The awarded paper is entitled:
"All-Optical Tunable Delay Line for Channel Selection in OTDM Demultiplexing," by Alan Cheng, Mable P. Fok, and Chester Shu
