Research on “Smart Use of Energy” led by Prof. WONG, Ching Ping published on CUHK publication “Sustainable Campus”

Prof. WONG, Ching Ping, Dean of Engineering at CUHK, is leading a team of researchers from CUHK, HKUST and HKPolyU to study how to collect and distribute solar energy in the most effective way. The proposed research project, entitled 'Smart Solar Energy Harvesting, Storage, and Utilization', studies how to sustainably utilize solar energy using new technologies that will enhance efficiency and security, while keeping the cost affordable.

YAO, Yi Fei, YUAN, Yi Xuan won the Global Scholarship Programme for Research Excellence for 2014-15

Mr. Yao, Yi Fei and Ms. Yuan, Yi Xuan, Ph.D. students in BME Division of the Department of Electronic Engineering, have been selected to receive an award under the Global Scholarship Programme for Research Excellence for 2014-15. The award is to assist students to undertake a research attachment at overseas universities:

Dr. CHENG, Zhenzhou won the Faculty’s Outstanding PhD Thesis Award 2013

Dr. CHENG, Zhenzhou has been selected to receive the Faculty’s outstanding PhD Thesis Award 2013. His thesis title is "Graphene-on-Silicon Suspended Membrane Planar Lightwave Circuits".

ZHENG, Ming Hua won the Best Full Paper Award in the 2014 ACMIEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction.

ZHENG, Ming Hua’s collaboration work with the CARIS Lab during her visit to The University of British Columbia has won the Best Paper Award in the 2014 ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction.

CHI, Fung Fei won silver award in HKEIA project competition

CHI, Fung Fei won the silver award in the HKEIA project competition. The project is her final-year project under Prof. Lee Tan's supervision. Below is her project description and feeling for receipt of award.
