Professor ZHANG, Yuan Ting wins the Hong Kong ICT Gold Award

Both the “Non-contact Electro-cardiogram Monitoring Bedsheet” and “Health-shirt” developed by a team led by Professor Zhang Yuan-ting of the Department of Electronic Engineering, received the Best Lifestyle Gold Award (Home Life and Healthy Living) from the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2008. These two low-cost and user-friendly devices monitor heart rate and blood pressure on a 24-hour basis which is particularly beneficial to heart disease patients and people with high risk (elders and hypertension patients).

WANG, Lling won the China Youth Technology Innovation Award

WANG, Lling, PhD student of EE Department, won the “China Youth Technology Innovation Award 2008” in the People’s Grand Hall in Beijing in December, 2008.

Conference Paper Award received by Prof. WU, Ke Li

The paper titled “Development of The First Chinese Electromagnetic Human Model and Its Use for SAR Calculations” received Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC) prize in 2008 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference held in Hong Kong during Dec. 16-20, 2008.
