Our undergraduate year 2 student, Miss Kou Wai Chu, has been awarded the ESET NOD32 Scholarship for 2008/9. Students receiving the scholarship have attained good academic results and demonstrated records in local community services or outstanding performance in extra-curricular activities.
Prof. CHAM, Wai Kuen, PI of the Project “Future Multimedia Standards”, has been awarded a research grant of HK$1,000,000 (Aug. 2008 – Jan. 2010) from Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute Company Ltd.

A recent article entitled "Controlling of the surface energy of the gate dielectric in organic field-effect transistors by polymer blend" (Appl. Phys. Lett. 2009, 94, 093302) by Prof. XU, Jian Bin's team and collaborators has been highlighted by "Noteworthy Chemistry", a weekly feature produced by the American Chemical Society (ACS) that collects and summarizes innovative ideas and has become a valuable stand alone resource for today’s informed chemistry professional.
The department has a vision to promote general education of technology to Hong Kong secondary students. Every year, we organize a competition on innovative applications of micro-controllers in our daily life and invite all secondary schools to participate. “Electronics Innovation Award” was held with the aims of raising electronic technology interest and encouraging original invention.
