Student Orientation and Scholarship Ceremony on Sept 14, 2012

Student Orientation and Scholarship Ceremony has been held on Sept 14, 2012. The Department Chairman, Prof. Tsang Hon Ki, and guests have given talks to all newly admitted BME and EE students. Donors of the scholarships also presented awards to our BME and EE students.

Prof. CHAM, Wai Kuen received Technology and Business Development Fund (TBF) of HK200,000 for his project

Prof. Cham Wai Kuen has been awarded a Technology and Business Development Fund (TBF) of HK200,000 for his project.

Awarded Distinguished Lectureship in Chinese Chemical Society - Prof. XU, Jian Bin

Prof. XU, Jian Bin has just been awarded the Distinguished Lectureship in Chinese Chemical Society in recognition of his contributions to understanding of moelcular materials and devices. Prof. Xu was invited to visit Beijing Institute of Chemsitry , CAS, which is currently the best basic research insitute of CAS.

US - China Workshop on Photonics in Hong Kong, June 28-29, 2012

The workshop will be held in CUHK. It will explore potential US-Hong Kong research collaborations in the area of photonics for energy, nanophotonics, and photonics materials and devices. Lecture presenters will consist of leading researchers from the US and Hong Kong. The program will include technical lectures, a poster session, and discussions on potential research collaborations.

LI, Kun and ZHOU, Yue won the Global Scholarship 2012-13

LI, Kun and ZHOU, Yue, PhD students of Department of Electronic Engineering (Supervisor of both students: Prof. Meng QH), have been selected to receive an award under the Global Scholarship Programme for Research Excellence – CNOOC Grants for 2012-13. Mr Li is awarded a value of HK$50000 and undertake a research attachment at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, California Institute of Technology for 6 months starting January, 2013.
