ICASSP is the most prestigious conference in the speech processing area. In this year, 570 papers were submitted in this area, and about 300 were accepted. Out of the 300 papers, those with a student as the first author could compete for the Student Best Paper Award.

Moreover, Dr. Yang was awarded the Spoken Language Processing Student Grant, sponsored by Drs. X. Huang, A. Acero and H. Hon, honors the student of an outstanding paper in the spoken language processing area accepted for publication in a conference sponsored by the IEEE Signal Processing Society.

The title of Dr. Yang 's paper is:

"'Static and Dynamic Spectral Features: Their Noise Robustness and Optimal Weights for ASR'"
