The PhD student Mr Hao CHENG and Prof. Steven GAO, from EE department, won the Gold Medal at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, due to their innovative work on ultra-wideband phased array antennas. Congratulations to Hao and Steven!
The title of their work is "An Ultra-wideband Wide-angle Beam-scanning Phased Array Antenna". Prof. Gao said "We are very proud of our achievements in the research and development of phased array antennas. Phased array antenna is the key technology for future wireless systems such as mobile and satellite communications (5G, 6G and beyond), radar sensing and imaging, Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC), wireless power transfer, etc. Our research work is a part of the project 'Advanced Antennas for a Smart World', funded by RGC under the Area of Excellence (AOE) scheme. We are grateful to RGC for the funding support".
