Prof Lee has been awarded an ITF Funding of HK$989,000 for his project.

Project Title: DJ X: A Personalized Music Recommendation System

DJ X is a revolutionary invention that will change people’s way to enjoy music. No one can listen once in his/her life time to 70-80 million MP3 songs that are currently available online, not to mention new songs emerging everyday ! The core of DJ X is a computational system that can “listen to” music. It bases on the latest multimedia signal processing technologies to analyze audio signals and extract major music-related attributes, such as rhythm, melody, timbre, music structure. By analyzing a user’s existing collection, DJ X automatically learns his/her music taste and recommends new songs that the user is not aware of.
