XU, Ke won the 2013 IEEE Photonics Society (IPS) Graduate Student Fellowship

Xu Ke has won the 2013 IEEE Photonics Society (IPS) Graduate Student Fellowship, which is given to 10 most outstanding Ph.D students in the IPS. The fellowship consists of an award of a $1000.00 honorarium and the recipients will be attending the award presentation at IEEE Photonics Conference in USA, September, 2013.

13 professors of the Department of Electronic Engineering, CUHK received a total of HKD$7,200,000 for their projects from the RGC Research General Fund for the year of 2013-14.

Mr. XU Ke, Mr. FENG Cong, Mr. WANG Jiaole and Ms. ZHENG Minhua, PhD students of the Department of Electronic Engineering, have been selected to receive an award under the Global Scholarship Programme for Research Excellence for 2013-14.

Mr. CHEN Zhenhong, EE PhD graduate (supervisor: Prof. Ngan King Ngi), recently received the CUHK Young Scholars Dissertation Awards. 

Two EE undergraduate students won the Professor Charles K. Kao Student Creativity Awards 2013 organized by CINTEC recently:

  1. Prof. XU, Jian Bin received a grant of HK$600,000 from the Croucher Foundation
  2. Prof. LEE Tan received a grant of US$154,799 from the National Institutes of Health for his project
  3. Prof. Emma MacPherson received ITF Grant of HK$998,200 for her project.
  4. Dr. WANG, Xiao Mu - Dean's Outstanding Thesis Award, CUHK
