Prof. H.K Tsang is the recipient of the Young Researcher Award 2005 in Chinese University of Hong Kong.
This Award is nominated annually by each Faculty to recognize young academic staff with exemplary research achievements. The Young Researcher Award consists of a plague and an amount of HK$100,000 in the form of research grant.
Prof. Y.T.Zhang has been selected by the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society as the recipient of the 2006 EMBS Service Award.

"exceptional and meritorious service to the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) with outstanding contributions to the development and promotion of EMBS’ conferences, educational activities, and international collaboration."
The recognition associated with this award consists of an engraved plaque, a honorarium and a reimbursement for travel, registration and accommodation expenses to attend the awards presentation ceremony, which will be held at New York.
Prof. S.Y. Wang have been awarded a fellowship by the INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED STUDIES(IIAS) for 2006-2007 in Feb. and the stipend starts in June, 2006. The IIAS is situated in an idyllic garden site in suburban Kyoto, Japan. It is similar in nature to the centers Prof. Wang has attended in the past, at Stanford, California, and at Bellagio, Italy. The fellowship carries a stipend of 1 million Japanese yen to support research related activities, including occasional residence at the Institute. Prof. Wang plans to use this fellowship to further pursue inter-disciplinary research on the evolution of language.
