I have a flexible choice of PhD projects, involving: wavelet approximation/representations, multi-dimensional (possibly non-linear) signal processing, sparse representation (emphasis on parametric representation), statistical processing and estimation, numerical algorithms. Applications aimed at: biomedical imaging (MRI, CT, nuclear imaging, ultrasound, microscopy, etc.).
The potential PhD student should be at ease with mathematics (harmonic analysis, statistics, algebra) and with programmation (Matlab, Java) for doing this project. But more generally, a student with a keen interest in physics (e.g. optics, wave propagation) will be preferred.
