Objective

This course is designed for students to gain an understanding of several mathematical techniques which can be useful in Science and Engineering.

Learning Outcome

• By the end of the course, students should be able to
• Manipulate complex numbers and complex functions comfortably
• Express a function as a power series
• Be familiar with a variety of convergence tests
• Determine the type of a matrix (eg orthogonal, unitary, Hermitian …)
• Solve equations using matrices.
• Calculate basic probabilities and statistics
